Science ha s been a bit lazy on common respiratory viruses. It hasn’t been that many studies done before Covid-19, but here it is: they pretty much all are mostly airborne.
It is kind of obvious that mask should make a difference. especially if we are talking respirator masks (N95/Ffp2/Kn95 etc) that are designed to protect the bearer from patogens like viruses. What we have sort of lacked is a real world comparison between a larger number of schools that keeps mask requirements and schools that remove mask requirements. And the result is clear: it makes a big difference. The first link is to the Time article about the NEJM published study.

Swedish health authority Folkhälsomyndigheten among a few others, UK government etc, have claimed that children don’t spread Covid and that schools aren’t driving the spread. Most epidemiologists disagreed from the very start and just watching statistics on age groups have given proof to the view of schools actually being the major force in driving the pandemic. Here is solid proof. That’s why it is very important to use counter measures in schools in order to slow down spread in society as a whole.
Covid-19 is airborne. It has been known since spring 2020. Airborne viruses are dealt with using breathing protection and… efficient ventilation and air filtration.
Here we are trying to put all the important links on children and Covid, be it Long Covid, vaccines, mitigation etc we will put them here.

Yes. 2 year olds can wear a mask. It isn’t dangerous and the children get used to them really fast.

Covid isn’t a benign disease: Blood clots, heart problems, kidney failure: COVID creates a higher risk for rare pediatric health problems, new CDC study finds.
Anyone read up on Covid and transmission/mitigation. knows that the SARS-Cov-2 virus likes to get airborne. 90%+ of transmission is airborne. This makes air quality important when it comes to protect people indoors.

British Medical Journal shares the professional opinion on not protecting children in schools etc, and their judgement on the British lack of protection is harsh. UK has a similar approach as Sweden on protection in schools etc.
